Michael Chong
appointed to the House of Common’s Standing Committee on Industry,
Science and Technology

Chong, M.P. for Wellington-Halton Hills has been appointed to the
House of Common’s Standing Committee on Industry, Science and
Technology.
Michael commented on his appointment by saying that “I’m pleased to
be appointed to this committee. It will allow me to understand the
needs of the business community.”
He added, “I’m excited to work on a committee that concerns both the
industrial and service side of Canada’s economy. This is of
particular importance since we have a number of large and small
industries right here in Wellington-Halton Hills. In addition, many
people who live in Wellington-Halton Hills work in the hi-tech
sector’s technology triangle in Waterloo Region. I want to help
ensure a regulatory and economic framework that will attract
business and jobs to Canada and to Wellington-Halton Hills.”
Michael intends to leverage his background in IT (Information
Technology) to contribute to the work of this important committee,
as well as help understand how we can attract industrial jobs to
communities across Canada.
