The proposed private facility which is hoped to be located on the 95.5 acre property adjacent the Scotsdale Farm on Eighth Line, just north of 27 Sideroad, was purchased 6 years ago with the hopes of provide Halton Region taxpayers with an exclusive alternative to their poorly planned public system. If all goes well, soon Halton's exclusive ratepayers will be able to divert their taxes from the public system, and apply it towards the expense of an exclusive facility. The proposed multi-million dollar facility called the Keswick Sutherland
School and Equestrian Centre will be a two-storey five thousand square
foot facility designed to look like an estate-style mansion. The facility
will also sport an eleven thousand square foot horse and pony stable and
a forty thousand square foot indoor riding arena. The Georgetown Independent recently reported; "With the impact
of residential development in Georgetown and surrounding areas, there
is a desperate need for more schools, and educational choices," said
Jesus Cordoba, head of the proposed school. The private school’s equestrian program will be optional and taught by certified riding instructors where students will have access to 10 km of riding trails on the property. continues next column ... |
Full day programs will start from approximately $10,500 for kindergarten to $14,750 annually for Grades 7 and 8. If the amendment is approved, the private Keswick Sutherland School and Equestrian Centre are hoping to soon be accepting applications for enrollment for this coming September Developments are forcing our children's classrooms to spill over into school parking lots |
