New Year's Eve event a rousing success

News Release

January 4, 2006

Halton - Milton: Halton MPP Ted Chudleigh praised the organizing committee and sponsors of the New Year's Eve fund raiser at Milton's Country Heritage Park for their successful event.

"The party was sold out," said Mr. Chudleigh. "That's a testimony to the
hard work of the organizing committee headed up by Friends of Country
Heritage Park and the support by the wider community in the goals of the
Park."

Mr. Chudleigh said the event managed to evoke a traditional country feeling in New Year's celebrations. He also extended a heartfelt thanks to sponsors of the event.

The fundraising event was born only a few weeks before the end of the year. Country Heritage Park was forced to replace an income stream derived from renting their parking facilities to the Toronto Auto Auction during the winter months. The Niagara Escarpment Commission, responding to a complaint, ruled that cars could not be parked on the parking lot.
