January 3rd, 2006

Halton Hills - Civic Centre: A June 13th Summary of Closed Session report from the Town of Halton Hills revealed; Mayor Bonnette and retired CAO Robert Austin, after visiting with the Town's solicitor advised Council that the remarks made about Terry Alyman on The Halton Herald "are slanderous".

Last November the Halton Herald exercised its FOI's (Freedom of Information) rights and filed applications with the The Corporation of the Town of Halton Hills Clerks office to reveal the Town's key players and motivations behind the Town launched civil action against the civil liberties of Halton Hills community group.

Much to the community's surprise, the Town's administrators, or its politicians have decided transparency and public disclosure over this issue is not in the publics best interest.

One would assume transparency and public disclosure over a government action to persecution a community group or it's members would be in the publics best interest, of course, unless, there is something to hide.
