Queens Park: Ontario legislators passed a law yesterday to bring term elections into effect. In Canada, Ontario is the second province (after British Columbia) to enact fix terms. The next Ontario Provincial election will be held on Oct. 4, 2007 and systematically voters will be going to the polls on the first Thursday in October every four years there after.

The law also requires -- candidates reveal online, real-time disclosure of political donations with in ten days of receiving them. No word on how or if the laws of disclosure will affect municipal elections.
