"The Corporate Culture rears its ugly head."

Town Hall - Community Comments: Regarding; Draft Town of Halton Hills Official Plan (May 2005)

"This plan that seems to have been hastily put together, which was only DRAFTED about a year ago, will turn Halton Hills into the Brampton many were trying to avoid.

Where are all those people who were opposed to Public Transit? I distinctly remember many of them saying at the transit meeting; they didn't want to create another community for ourselves that was an extension of Brampton?

This Corporate Culture that council's been catering too wants to change the building requirements on corner lots! Smaller lots equate to developers cramming more clone homes into our subdivisions. The charm of this community is about to be squeezed out from the proposed development changes to this Town’s Official Plan.

Mayor and Council are accelerating the plan that accelerates the development process under the guise of promoting private industrial development. We've already paid millions to accelerate private industrial growth, how much is this new plan going to cost taxpayers?

The amending ripples are going to affect our anticipated development and residential growth more than the public realizes. What about if we got to go back and rebuild our infrastructure like Brampton has been forced to do?

When politicians whose campaigns are financed in part, by developers, talk about a NEW corporate cultural attitude towards developing, while amending Official Plans, we all need to be concerned."
