Halton Hills - Georgetown:
Halton Museum Foundation Chairman, Tim
Kingsbury addressed council bringing with him an original copy
of the Halton County Atlas printed in
1877. The copy was one of a hundred copies printed, and one of
seven known to still exist.
As part of a fund raiser,
the Halton Museum Foundation reprinted limited editions of the
original Halton County Atlas for collectors and supporters
alike. One hundred and fifty copies of a limited leather bound
version are available for - $450 an edition. These copies will
be signed by the Mayors and dignitaries from the region. Five
hundred copies of the standard reproduced version will be
available to the public for ninety nine dollars a copy. The
museum does about 12 fundraising events a year. The group has
raised about two and a half million dollars of their five
million dollar campaign.
The Chairman invited guest
to visit the Heartside facility which recently had undertaken a
two point three million dollar renovation.
Councillor Fogal,
Somerville and Councillor Davis congratulated the Chairman on
the reproduction of the atlas.
