Acton's Councillor Clark Somerville wants a traffic study done in front of his brother's house

GNN

Corner of Churchill Road & Tanner's Drive

September 25th., 2005

Halton Hills - Reported in Acton's New Tanner September 8th, 2005;

"At the request of Regional Wards1/2 Councillor Clark Somerville, staff will look at traffic issues in the area of Churchill Road and Tanner's Drive,"

Neighbours applaud the councillor's concerns, a crosswalk and stop sign are both needed where Churchill intersects with the un-assumed Tanner's Road. However, they're disappointed Somerville's concerns are not addressing the safety issues on this side of MSB.

Contrary to the Mayor's advise, concerned residents have produced a petition and plan on turning it over to the Town's Traffic Technologist, Bob Butrym. The traffic conditions on Mill, Author and Peel streets, residents feel warrant stop signs where those streets intersect with Wellington Street. Earlier this year, a student on a bicycle and car. had a collision at the intersection of Peel and Wellington. Peel and Arthur don't even have sidewalks for children to walk to school on, yet, both come within a block of MSB.

This is a great opportunity for the councillor to show the community just how much he really does care about the safety concerns, we, who live in the MSB school zone have, and we all hope he'll seize it.
