Mayor Bonnette announces; the Town's Cooling Centres open for residents to escape the heat.

Halton Hills - Town Centre: Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette announced during the July 11th council meeting the available Halton Hills 'Cooling Centres' for people to escape the heat.

"We want our residents to know they have cool, safe places to go and escape the heat", said Mayor Bonnette at the recent council meet. The following is a list of Town designated cooling centres.

In Georgetown

Gellert Community Centre: until July 15th, open daily until 10 p.m; and July 16th and 17th, until 8 p.m.

Gellert Community Park Splash Pad: Open daily 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., call 905.877.4244

Halton Hills Cultural Centre Library: until July 14th, open until 8:30 p.m.; July 15th - 16th, open until 5 p.m.; July 17th closed.

Mold-Master SportsPlex: until July 14th, open daily until 10 p.m. each day.

In Acton

Acton Arena: - open daily between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 11 p.m. or 10 p.m. on weekends.

Acton Public Library:- 9 am - 5 pm daily, closed Sundays.

Acton's Prospect Park Wading Pool: open daily from 1:30 p.m - 8 p.m. (admission required)

Acton Indoor Pool: call for schedule - 519.853.3140 (admission required)
