CAO
Andrews Revisited
April 25th, 2005
Halton Region - Georgetown - A number of private
citizens have approached council regarding the sudden departure of C.A.O.
Andrews taking issue with his contract. Derrick William applied to the
Halton Hills Town Clerk - Karen Landry for a copy of his employment
contract, but was refused. He appealed and was granted a copy of it
through the Ontario Privacy Commission.
A Mr. Thompson from Norval, as well as Mr. Williams
delegated the issue before council, where their concerns were addressed
with a wall of silence. Halton Herald editor - Al Kirouac brought the
issue back up in a February delegation concerning the implementation of a
Town Integrity Commissioner, but was also met with a wall of silence.
During one of Mr. Williams delegation the issue of the
clerk failing to provide the community member a copy of Mr. Andrews
employment contract was raised by Councillor Davis, but still the Town
Clerk - Karen Landry would not say what exactly were the motives in her
attempt to with-hold the information from Mr. Williams.
